The Vinyl Factory asked Paul Pensom and Dan Moscrop to create a publication for vinyl collectors. FACT adopted the format of a seven-inch single, with early issues packaged in outer sleeves. Its rough, immediate visual language gave the magazine the feel of a cult fanzine and attracted devoted followers.
