After discussing artist Kate’s influences we created an alphabetical code with which we transcribed her music into a visual language. We designed a series of three EPs for Roisin Murphy on the Vinyl Factory label. The first, entitled Mi Senti featured Murphy's interpretation of a series of 60s and 70s Italian ballads. Working with Roisin we conceived a tableaux of three dimensional typography, which was memorably brought to life over four panels of a twelve-inch gatefold by model-maker Rachel Thomas and photographer Jenny Van Sommers. Portrait photography on the inner sleeves was by Ami Barwell, and retouching was by Stephanie Colman and Katrin Straupe. Two further remix EPs were released subsequently. We were delighted to work with Robert Del Naja and Stephen Petch recently on the production of 3D & The Art Of Massive Attack. The problem: to help Robert Del Naja (3D) trawl through thirty years' of visual material to create the ultimate Massive Attack monograph. This set is the most complete record of the band's artwork and influences ever released, and comprises a cloth-bound book, etched vinyl disc and limited-edition screen print.
